As Managing Director of Data & AI at Preston Capital, I lead the charge in leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance returns for investors in the alternative investments space. My specialty is leading technical teams to build data products and get a tangible ROI from the company’s AI investments.

Professional Journey
My career in Data and AI started at Manulife Financial as an Actuary, where I worked in diverse roles such as pricing, reserving, and risk management. Advancing to the role of Director of Advanced Analytics, I was instrumental in establishing the Global Center of Excellence for Advanced Analytics. This initiative drove significant value for business units in the US, Canada, and Asia.
Startup Experience
As Vice President of Data Science at Discern Health, I spearheaded critical initiatives in proprietary data acquisition, AI strategy, and the establishment of the foundational ML team. These efforts were pivotal in our ability to accurately forecast disease trajectories in the elderly population.

At Preston Capital, I oversee machine learning, data infrastructure, and the overall AI strategy for the firm. Working closely with Product, Technology, and Trading teams, my focus lies in delivering key data products that drive strategic initiatives and enhance performance.

Education and Qualifications
I graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto, specializing in Actuarial Science with a minor in Statistics. I earned qualifications as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries in 2012. Additionally, I hold a Master’s Degree in Management Analytics from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.
